Last leg of the Ragnar Wasatch Back.  Legs 31 and 32.

Average Pace on this leg was a paltry 11:20-ish.  Left leg was really bothering me, had to make a potty stop, and I was exhausted.

Glad to hear you survived. Hope that leg is ok, especially after all the races you've been doing. How was the relay? I heard that are WAY to many teams and it was extremely congested.

DoG! I'm going to take some time off from running--a couple of weeks or more--to see if I can't get it back to good.

Yeah, it was pretty congested for us after 6:00 a.m. Saturday, but it didn't really get bad until we started going over Guardsman Pass from Midway to Park City. And even then it was bearable up to the finish line which is where I just about lost it. I swore then that I'd never do another RAGNAR as long as those conditions continued. I've since softened my stance a bit... :

You're a manimal! You ran those ultra legs FAST!!!!! Hope the leg is recovering by the minute!!! CONGRATZ for a monster month of racing!!!

Killer dude...how did I not know you were doing an ultra! Now you rock even more in my book!

From Kelli on Wed, Jun 23, 2010 at 18:44:09 from 71.219.99.30

I actually thought they did a much better job this year than they ever have with the congestion. Maybe I am HIGH!!!

Great job! Anyone who can do Wasatch Back as an ULTRA is truly amazing!

Enjoy your time off.

Bradley, seriously, you are such a STUD!!!

What's wrong with your leg?????

From Maynard on Wed, Jun 23, 2010 at 19:06:34 from 159.212.71.25

Smooth: the first and second legs I feel pretty good about. I just tanked the third, but the last 6 miles were a lot better than the first 4.

Kathie: I have no idea! I've been wearing my "I'm running RAGNAR on an ULTRA team" t-shirt for weeks now. Actually, I don't know that I've mentioned it--maybe once?

Kelli: I've softened my opinion of the finish a little bit since Saturday, but it was still pretty bad for us. After 30 hours of being stuck in a van with smelly people and a fair amount of running, I think I was fairly irritable and looking for something to lash out at.

Teena Marie: I am, aren't I. :) I'm thinking it's some kind of stress injury--maybe even a stress fracture. I'm taking 3 to 4 weeks off running to see a) if I can't get back to good, and b) if I can actually go that long without running.

Yes you are ... 110% STUD!!!

(and SMART ... stay true to your plan)

From MarcE on Thu, Jun 24, 2010 at 23:59:12 from 204.16.82.120

Bets are you won't make it 3 weeks without running...but I hope you do. Get well!

How's the leg feeling?

From Maynard on Sat, Jun 26, 2010 at 18:33:59 from 71.213.28.77

Eh... I don't know. I've been wrapping it occasionally and icing it here and there, but it's still bothersome even walking sometimes. I'm a bit anxious.

Or maybe I'm just anxious about my class reunion tonight.

From DonGardinero on Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 12:43:37 from 75.162.188.133

How was the class reunion? Is your leg feeling even slightly better?

From MrsFIT on Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 15:57:35 from 98.202.0.57

Sorry to hear about your leg injury. It's probably best to take some time off and let it heal before you start gearing up for ToU in Sept.

From Maynard on Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 19:02:41 from 199.190.170.30

You know, this morning I was actually thinking that maybe I was feeling some improvement. Problem is I'm not really going to know for sure until I try running on it. 1.5 weeks in, 2.5 (or maybe 4.5) weeks to go.
