Based on today's run, I'm guessing TOU is gonna be U G L Y .  Walked a lot of the last 4 miles.  Maybe I should just drop out of TOU altogether.  I don't know.

My first inclination with tonight's run was to blame it on the shoes, but after some careful consideration, I have to lay the blame right where it belongs--with me.  I've gotten very little mileage since the first of August and I don't know that my feet would respond well in any pair of shoes right now.

I feel your pain! You will still be doing St. George either way though right?

From Smooth on Mon, Sep 06, 2010 at 23:01:57 from 174.23.160.38

So sorry to hear that! What can I do for ya?

From Maynard on Mon, Sep 06, 2010 at 23:06:57 from 71.213.1.230

Thanks Kathie and Smooth.

Kathie: Yes, I still plan on running St. George regardless.

Don't know quite what to do for myself, Smooth.

Somehow or another I've just got to get my head back in the game. So many inconsequential things lately seem to have just thrown me for a loop.

Right now I'm leaning towards running TOU as an 18 to 20 mile training run for St. George. I should be able to manage the last 6 to 8 miles, shouldn't I?

On the up-side, The Olive Garden is running their Never-Ending-Pasta-Bowl special!

That sounds like a good plan. You want me to come run the last part of TOU with you?

Olive Garden sounds delish...which one? when?

From Maynard on Mon, Sep 06, 2010 at 23:17:18 from 71.213.1.230

Ohhhh, now you're teasing me. AF Olive Garden, right now!

I thought you were running the last half with someone else? If you're gonna be there and won't mind carrying me across the finish line, I'd love to have your company!

From Smooth on Mon, Sep 06, 2010 at 23:24:52 from 174.23.160.38

Deal! I haven't committed to running w/ anyone yet. You're first on the list!!! :) I'll have Larry drop me off at the mouth of the canyon.

I'm gonna PM you on Olive Garden! :)

It's definitely difficult to get your head in the game with so many things, whatever they may be, messing with psyche.

With your marathoning experience, you should be able to pull through the last third of TOU. If Julie Ann can run a marathon with training close to nil, surely you can.

At least you got out. Hang in there.
