Ankles and calves hurt.  Those hills are buggers!  As crappy as I felt in the first few miles, I ended up only being 4 seconds slower than last weeks run.

I also think that starting a barefoot running/foot strengthening regimen so close to a race (Buffalo Run 50K, March 27) was a mistake.  I think I'll stop all barefoot running until that's over.

Group run on Saturday: 7:00 a.m. at the Provo River Parkway trailhead located at, or near, Utah Lake State Park.

Sorry about the sore ankles and calves. Those are good kind or soreness though, right? Good idea to do the barefoot regimen AFTER the 50K.

See you tomorrow morning. I heard there's a trail closure or the PRP for road construction. Do you know anything about it?

Smooth: Yes, it's a good kind of sore. There's a closure about a mile and a half up the trail but there's an easy detour around it so it won't be a problem.

Wish I was in town this weekend to run the trail with all you guys. Maybe another week. Next weekend is the 50k right?? Good luck Brad.

Brad, sorry I haven't checked out your blog in a while. I didn't realize you were trying the barefoot thing...sounds like you're having some of the same types of pain I'm having. Good idea to wait until after your 50K to give it a better ramp-up time.
