Went for a walk that turned into a slow jog...

4.01 miles / 43:06 / 10:46 A.P. / Jordan River Parkway

I was just going for a walk to loosen up my calf muscles but got out there and ended up running a bit just to see how I'd feel.  Not bad--still some tightness though--I should have gone up the canyon and soaked in the river yesterday.  Or today.  Maybe tomorrow?

NICE recovery jog! I like to take short walks on Sun especially after sitting for 3 hrs at church. Did you go to church? (I'm sounding like a mother, I know! :D )

Brad...I noticed in one of your last race pictures that you had compression socks or sleeves. Have you noticed if they help at all? I've been using a pair of injinji compression socks for the past few weeks, but not sure if I notice any difference.

Smooth: Yeah--Sunday's are days where I tend to let my head get all clouded up with gunk--which seems completely backwards to me, but there it is. I go "out" to clear the head and yesterday just kinda evolved into that jog. Didn't realize I had run so much til I got home and plugged in my Garmin (I wanted to measure some distances on the JRP from the lake northwards).

Dale: My compression sleeves are Zoot sleeves--I paid way to much for them. I haven't noticed a difference so much WHILE I'm running; but when I wear them after a run, I do see some benefit--calves are less sore and tend to recover faster. I had no idea Injinji had compression socks--guess I'll have to check 'em out!

Brad, I got my socks from Zombierunner.com. Here is the direct link:

did you start at the lake? I have never made it to the lake. Always stopped at that soccer field park and turned back north. We need to run that Jrp again now that the trail is opened on the pioneer crossing and I know how to get around the 2100N construction.

Sundays are like that...reflective time...much needed rest to dejunk our minds, I figure!

Smooth: I started at the parking area about a mile from the lake--maybe half that from the soccer field/park.
