First run in the dark with my new Fenix E11 light. Me likey!  But first: a week ago I rolled my ankle.  Nothing major but up through about Wednesday my ankle was a bit sore.  Ran on it last night and all was well.  This morning I was back to the sore again.  Was going to wait until tomorrow morning to run again, but the Fenix in the mailbox changed my mind!

The Fenix E11 is a little handheld LED light that runs off of one AA battery.  It has two power/brightness settings: max (105 lumens) and low (32 lumens).  Battery life at max is 1h50m; at low it's 8h23m--that's quite a bit of difference! Fortunately the low setting provides ample light so I won't be going through batteries like a mad man.  It's small and light enough to carry in a pocket until needed or it'll fit in my Amphipod pouch.

That sounds like a cool light. Where'd you order it from?

Hope your ankle is ok

Hey Mad Man Maynard! What and when is your next race?

From DaleG on Sat, Mar 24, 2012 at 12:19:26 from 71.199.57.238

He should be running the Buffalo Run 50 miler today.

From Maynard on Sat, Mar 24, 2012 at 13:20:03 from 71.213.9.231

Should have been. Dropped this morning before the race even started with a migraine though.

Good idea dropping out. Migraine's are the worst. I had one a few days ago. Hope you are starting to feel better.

Probably, but part of me is disappointed that I didn't even try. Probably the part of me that figures it has to justify the money spent... Oh well.

I know exactly how you feel. I have thrown away hundreds and hundreds of dollars the past few years. Now I'm trying to sell my Ogden marathon entry. I already sold my wife's entry and just this morning I deferred both of our entries to next year at UVM.

Sorry to hear that a nasty headache kept you from playing today. Do you know if Smooth ran the 25 k today?

From Maynard on Sat, Mar 24, 2012 at 16:40:35 from 71.213.9.231

Yes she did. Rachel did too.

Bradley ~ I am so sorry you didn't come to play! We missed you! :(

However, I think it's a good thing you didn't run the 50 miles because the temp got really warm as the day wore on. BUT! You would've loved running the 25K. If I weren't so gimpy myself I would've talked you into it...I was SUPER SLOW and am still very SORE 4 days later!

Your Fenix E11 sounds really cool. Can't wait to hear more about many runs with it. Happy trail! :)
